BATON ROUGE - It'll be a bit nippy, but near perfect for this weekend's parades.

The Krewe of Southdowns rolls at 7 p.m. Friday through the neighborhood it is named after. The theme for the Southdowns 2016 parade will be "Under The Big Top".

The WBRZ weather team predicts quiet, chilly weather for the parade. Expect clear skies, light winds. The temperature will be in the mid 40s.

Overnight, though, it'll drop. Late Friday and early Saturday, the temperature will be in the mid 30s.

Saturday, the Spanish Town Parade rolls at noon. Expect partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs will stretch for the upper 50s, meteorologist Josh Eachus said.

There could, however, be a stray, light shower in the region.

Sunday will be bright and chilly; Mardi Gras Day should be similar to the weekend.
