Jury chosen in slain child case

Opening statements and testimony are set to begin today after prosecutors and defense lawyers
picked a jury to hear the first-degree case of a Missouri man accused of fatally beating his Baton Rouge girlfriend's 2-year-old son in 2007.

If Dacarius Holliday is convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Darian Coon, prosecutors will ask the jury to recommend the death penalty.

Coon died May 14, 2007.

Holliday is accused of killing Coon while trying to toilet train the toddler.
