Rulings by a judge in Knox County, Tennessee were called into questions after Richard Baumgartner was found to be high on prescription drugs for the last two years of his career. Prosecutors say Baumgartner presided over more than a thousand cases during that period. Having to go back and review them could overwhelm the county court system. An investigative file of Baumgartner says he bought pills during courtroom breaks and traded pills for sex in his chambers. Another judge has already overturned several convictions based on the investigation of Baumgartner. New trials were even ordered, including a case involving one of Knoxville's most notorious murders. Baumgartner pleaded guilty to one count of official misconduct last year.
