Sentencing for a man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter before his attorney gave up his law license to avoid a federal drug conviction has been delayed.
Blake Thompson of Ethel pleaded guilty in January to manslaughter in the February 2009 shooting death of 22-year-old Brandon Dixon of Greenwell Springs.
Thompson's attorney Kevin Monahan resigned from the practice of law, and he is participating
in a pretrial diversion program to avoid a federal conviction for possession of marijuana and Oxycodone.
