Judge declares BR family law unconstitutional
BATON ROUGE - The definition of family, as spelled out by the City of Baton Rouge, is unconstitutional according to District Court Judge Janice Clark.
Under the law, 3 or more unrelated people could not live together in neighborhoods zoned for single family.
Judge Clark ruled that definition was "unconstitutionally vague," and thus unable to be enforced.
Former mayoral candidate Steve Myers sued over the zoning regulation. He was sued by the city for having unrelated people living in some of his rental properties.
