WBRZ - Baton Rouge

Morehouse Parish School Board's plan to close Carver and East Side elementary schools and to rezone the district has been approved.

The approved plan was the fourth the district and the Department of Justice had considered to save the district $2.9 million while maintaining the desegregation of schools.

Superintendent Tom Thrower said the plan will spread the impact of the changes among most of the district's schools.
