Juban Crossing back on track
DENHAM SPRINGS - Construction at the Juban Crossing site restarted a few weeks ago, and Livingston Parish President Layton Ricks says the shopping center will become a reality.
The major retail developed planned along I-12 has suffered through delays since the economic dip starting in 2008. He says developers have weathered that storm, and the state bond commission will consider a bond proposal for the site next week.
Ricks says the developers in the next few weeks should be releasing more information about what stores will locate there. Phase 1 is now scheduled for completion next year. He says road improvements in the area are also key. Plans call for Cook Road to be extended from Pete's Highway to the rear of the complex, giving drivers another option into the mall area.
