Jordan Mickey puts pros on hold, will return to LSU
BATON ROUGE - Jordan Mickey said Wednesday he will return for his sophomore year with the LSU basketball team, and with that, the Tigers will bring back their two star freshman from last year's NIT quarterfinalist team.
Mickey said he has goals of leading the team back to the NCAA tournament, and he'll have help from former Madison Prep standout Jarell Martin, who earlier this spring said he would also return to the Tigers for his sophomore season.
Last year, Mickey led the team in minutes per game (32.8), averaged 12.7 points per game and 7.9 rebounds while blocking 106 shots-the most of any Tiger since Shaquille O'Neal.
Mickey earned 2nd team All-SEC honors as well as a spot on the All-SEC defensive team.
