A jogger was hit and killed by a plane making an emergency landing on the beach at Hilton Head, South Carolina. Robert Gary Jones was hit by the plane that had lost its propeller and the pilot's view was obscured by oil on the windshield. Police say Jones apparently did not hear or see the plane and was killed instantly. He was a salesman for a drug company and was there on a business trip and preparing to go home to Georgia for his daughter's third birthday. The pilot was not hurt.
