Jocks get the boot over transgender comments
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK- Two morning radio show hosts were fired over their on-air comments regarding Rochester's decision to cover gender reassignment surgery for city employees.
Kimberly Ray and Barry Beck of WBZA worked for Entercom Rochester. Ray referred to anyone seeking a gender reassignment procedure as a "nut job." Beck chimed in it was like the city paying for breast enhancement or liposuction for a mentally ill woman.
The remarks were made on their "Breakfast Buzz" show and generated more than 4,000 signatures calling for them to be fired.
