Job fair today for positions at Geismar plant
GEISMAR - A chemical company with expansion plans in Geismar scheduled a job fair today for potential hires.
Methanex Corp. is building a new methanol production facility which will open by the end of 2014. The facility will have 135 permanent, full-time jobs in a variety of positions around the plant.
The job fair is at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This is the second Methanex plant moved to the parish from Chile. The two plants together are estimated to cost a total of $1.1 billion.
