ST. GABRIEL - Close to 300 inmates got the chance to sit with possible future employers at a job fair at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women.

The women met with various representatives from different organizations. Job training in drafting and design, welding, agriculture and many other programs are offered to the women before they go back into the real world.

"I've learned a lot, how to make bread and desserts and all kinds of stuff," said Stephanie Moore, who is set to be released at the beginning of April.

Moore has been a part of the culinary program for four years and said she feels prepared to go back into society.

"I feel more confidant to go out there and do better," said Moore.

According to prison officials, employers who decide to hire ex-offenders get a tax break of several hundred dollars.
