Jindal to speak at prayer rally and anti-abortion march
BATON ROUGE- Gov. Bobby Jindal will appear at LSU's campus tomorrow for multiple speaking engagements during a controversial prayer rally that has drawn attention from supporters and potential protesters alike.
The governor's office released on Friday afternoon a schedule of events on Jindal's calendar for the Saturday event. Jindal will lead the opening prayer at "The Response" rally which will be held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center starting at 10 a.m. After opening the event, Jindal will appear at 10:20 a.m. to speak at the Right to Life March at the LSU Greek Theatre.
After his speech at the march, the governor is set to return to the PMAC for the remainder of the event, where he will deliver a final speech and closing prayer at 3 p.m.
"The Response" is a day of prayer organized for a "nation in crisis", being put on by the American Family Association, who claim to be the oldest and largest pro-traditional family group in the country. The Right to Life March is organized by the pro-life Louisiana Right to Life Federation and is aimed at raising awareness for anti-abortion causes in the state.
