BATON ROUGE- Gov. Bobby Jindal is creating a new nonprofit called America Next that will push conservative policy ideas, saying Republicans need to be more than a party that "says no to everything."
Jindal said Thursday that conservatives have done a good job of talking about what they don't like, but haven't done enough to offer solutions on issues like health care, energy and education.
By setting up his own nonprofit organization, Jindal can position himself as an intellectual leader for the GOP.
America Next also can help raise Jindal's national profile for a possible 2016 presidential bid - though the governor sidestepped talk of any White House interest.
Jindal tapped two Washington-based staffers to work for the nonprofit.
Its executive director is Jill Neunaber, who worked on Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.
