Jindal hires relatives of former chief of staff
BATON ROUGE - Gov. Bobby Jindal has hired the brother and brother-in-law of his former chief of staff, Timmy Teepell.
Jindal tapped Matt Parker to become his intergovernmental affairs director and Taylor Teepell to be his deputy legislative affairs director.
Parker, from Virginia, is brother-in-law to Timmy Teepell. The Advocate reports Parker worked as campaign manager for Jindal's 2011 re-election campaign and on the campaign of Florida Gov. Rick Scott.
Taylor Teepell, of Baton Rouge, is Timmy Teepell's brother. He was director of the state Republican Party's Victory Fund, the fundraising arm for this fall's elections. He also worked as policy adviser to Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.
Timmy Teepell recently moved to political consulting firm OnMessage Inc., based in suburban Washington, D.C., which does work for Jindal.
