BATON ROUGE - Gov. Bobby Jindal spent more than $1.3 million on advertising over the last month, even as he faces no major competition to his re-election bid.
In his latest campaign finance reports, Jindal shows more than $6 million remaining in his campaign account leading into the Oct. 22 election. He spent $1.9 million from Sept. 13 through Oct. 2 - more than two-thirds of that on TV and online advertising.
Nine opponents are running against Jindal, but none have the fundraising heft or statewide name recognition to mount a significant challenge to the Republican governor, who is seeking a second term.
