BATON ROUGE- The glimmer on Bobby Jindal has faded for most voters as he wraps up his final days as Louisiana's governor. While the governor is traveling the state to shine up his eight-year legacy, his tenure appears tarnished by red ink.

The 44-year-old has seen his approval ratings tank at home. His presidential bid stalled. And his performance as governor has been marred by constant budget crises.

But as his time in office near its Jan. 11 end, Jindal gives no hint of regret.

The term-limited governor told The Associated Press he's worked hard for Louisiana: "Every single day I did what I thought was right, and I'm comfortable with the decisions I made."

Jindal chalks up his unpopularity to "battle scars" from sweeping changes. He says those scars will heal.
