Jindal asks cosmetology appointee to resign
The chair of the state's cosmetology board says he has resigned at the request of Gov. Bobby Jindal
after allegations he had sexually harassed male employees of his spa surfaced.
Michael-John Gaspard confirmed Friday that he resigned a week earlier at the governor's request.
Gaspard denies the allegations of harassment, which he said came from disgruntled former employees.
Gaspard, owner of H20 Salon and Spa in Metairie, has donated more than $8,750 to Jindal in state and federal elections, according to campaign finance records.
Jindal's office did not immediately return a request for comment Friday afternoon.
