METAIRIE - Saints tight end Jimmy Graham says his humble is one reason why he's not making his contract status an issue.

Graham, who grew up poor and was abandoned by his parents, says he's just happy to be playing football and ready to give the Saints all he's got heading into the final season of his rookie contract.

Graham, a former college basketball player at Miami, has 2,292 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns during the past two seasons, but has yet to receive the kind of lucrative extensions given to New England's Rob Gronkowski, or even Aaron Hernandez before Hernandez was charged with murder.

Coach Sean Payton says the Saints eventually will take care of Graham's contract, and in the meantime expect him to be "extremely productive."
