"Jihad Jane" could face life in prison
PHILADELPHIA- The American woman known as "Jihad Jane" could face life in prison for plotting to kill a Swedish cartoonist whose work offended Muslims.
Federal prosecutors contend Collen LaRose should get the maximum to serve as a deterrent to "other lonely, vulnerable people who might be enticed by online extremists promising fame and honor."
LaRose and two others convicted in the plot face sentencing next week.
The maximum she could get is life.
The two others could face 15 years for conspiring to provide material assistance to terrorists.
