Jetson officials answer questions about security, youth services
BAKER - News 2 was allowed inside the Jetson Center for Youth today for a tour of the complex.
There have been many complaints about the site after a recent escape from the facility. A former state lawmaker says many of the juvenile justice reform measures approved a decade ago have never been implemented. Others with ties to the center say manpower and maintenance issues are not being addressed.
Jetson leaders say that is not the case. They allowed News 2 cameras to take an inside look at the treatment and housing areas on the campus, and said problems which led to the recent escapes are being corrected.
Mike Steele will have a full report on the facility tonight on News 2 at 6 p.m.
