Jetson detention center cleared overnight
BAKER - Juveniles detained at Jetson Center for Youth were transferred overnight, after the detention center unexpectedly closed.
The Jetson center closed at around 3 am. The reason for the closure has not been released.
Residents were sent to other detention centers in Louisiana.
Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) says the all male facility has housed underage law offenders since 1948 and do not anticipate reopening.
WBRZ News2 cameras were there overnight as the buses were loaded and escorted out the gate.
