BATON ROUGE - Prosecutor Hillar Moore said today a grand jury will hear the battery case against two suspended LSU football players on Wednesday.

Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns surrendered Aug. 26 to charges of second-degree battery in connection with a brawl outside a bar south of the LSU campus a week earlier.

Moore said Baton Rouge Police turned over evidence in the case, which included DNA tests of shoes and clothing taken from the two players' apartment. He said the tests, which were trying to find DNA belonging to the victims in the fight, were "inconclusive".

The players told police they were at the bar when the fight happened, but did not take part. Both were suspended indefinitely from the team.
