Jazzfest at 45
NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival gets under way Friday, with musical performances featuring pop and rock stars along with traditional jazz.
It's the 45th annual festival and is held at the New Orleans Fair Grounds, where it's been since 1972. The two weekends of music include headliners Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Lyle Lovett, and Public Enemy.
About 500 acts and 5,000 performers are entertaining including plenty of jazz, gospel, and zydeco.
