Jason Collins tops NBA jersey sales
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Jason Collins made history this week when he became the NBA's first openly gay player.
Now he's the league's most popular player, at least in terms of jersey sales. After playing just one game, his number 98 Brooklyn Nets uniform is the top seller on NBA.com.
In his first game against the Lakers, Collins went scoreless but did secure two rebounds. He will get another shot to break into the scoring column Wednesday night at the Portland Trailblazers.
Collins is the first openly gay, active athlete in any of America's four major sports.
