Jail time for starving a boy
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA- A couple cut a deal for a reduced sentence for starving their adopted son.
Mona and Russell Hauer pleaded guilty to neglect and she got 60 days while her husband got 30 days. He'll begin serving after his wife's sentence.
Their son is now in foster care after being found starving. He's eight and weighed less than 35-pounds.
Both read a statement in court saying they are sorry, that they love their son and they fell short in getting him help.
