BATON ROUGE- The four former LSU football players arrested Thursday on drug charges have been booked into jail, but bond has not been set.
The jail released their booking photographs, also known as "mug shots," just before 8 p.m.
Jordan Jefferson, Tyrann Mathieu, Karnell Hatcher, and Derrick Bryant were arrested before 4 p.m. at an apartment on West State Street.
Mathieu and Jefferson were charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana, Hatcher was charged with 2nd Offense Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Bryant is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
Lt. Don Kelly with Baton Rouge Police said they were told someone, later identified as Jefferson, tried to force their way past a security gate and into the complex. They were told he went into Mathieu's apartment, who answered the door when officers knocked.
Kelly said the officers immediately noticed an odor of marijuana, and got permission from Mathieu to search the apartment. Inside he said the found Jefferson, Hatcher and Bryant, as well as a marijuana grinder, digital scale and 10 bags of high-grade marijuana. Police said seven of the bags were inside Bryant's booksack.
