Grambling's offense finally got in a rythym. Greg Dillon literally flipped into the end zone to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead.

The following possession for the Jags looked promising as the Jags made their first, first down of the day. Bryant Lee found Warren Matthews for a 37 yard completion. Matthews was injured on the play and left the game. It looked to be his knee. Once again, the Jags were held out of the end zone going for it on 4th down. Bryant Lee threw and incomplete pass and turned it over on downs. After the one quarter of play, the Tigers lead 7-0.
