Jags' Banks discusses decision to stay
BATON ROUGE - Southern men's basketball coach Roman Banks said he still believes in his team and his administration, which are the main reasons he decided to agree to a contract extention.
After the University failed to provide adequate academic information to the NCAA, the Jaguars probation status with the NCAA is still uncertain, but Banks is certain that the school shares his vision for the future of the program.
"My thought process is that hopefully one day we'll be able to go to the NCAA tournament and beat somebody," Banks said on Tuesday.
The administration expects to hear a ruling on their probation sometime later this week.
