Jackknifed semi closes I-12 for an hour
BATON ROUGE - State traffic officials reported a jackknifed semi trailer blocked some of I-12 West in East Baton Rouge Parish during the noon rush, forcing them to close it for an hour.
The Department of Transportation and Development reported the semi blocked two lanes between the Millerville Road and Sherwood Forest exit. Police responding to the scene said a hydraulic tank on the semi also ruptured, spilling fluid on the highway.
Authorities blocked off the interstate and let traffic pass through on the shoulder before eventually closing it entirely.
The interstate reopened at 2 p.m.
