ROME- Free agent quarterback Tim Tebow was offered a four-month contract by the Italian Federation for American Football and is awaiting to hear back from his agent.

The Milano Seaman say they want him. The president of the team says, "the offer has been made to his agent and now we're waiting for a response. ...We would be more than happy to have him."

The federation told the Associated Press the offer is to play beginning in March for $270,000.

Tebow was cut by the New England Patriots before the start of the season.
