BATON ROUGE – Classes at Istrouma High School will be back in session after they were canceled for a second time this week due to electrical problems.
Chris Trahan with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System said an underground electrical fire last night knocked out power to the entire campus. While workers were able to restore electricity to most of the buildings today, some ancillary buildings are still without power.
The school had to cancel classes earlier in the week after a circuit breaker was blown Sunday night and had to be replaced.
Trahan said maintenance employees will continue working on the school’s electrical system until a permanent solution is found.
