Taxpayers affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill can now call an Internal Revenue Service hotline for help.

The hot line is designed to answer questions about BP payments or help anyone with filing or payment hardships because of the spill.

The number is 1-866-562-5227 and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
