Irish-Italian parade canceled in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Organizers for Baton Rouge's Irish-Italian Parade canceled this year's event today, less than a week before it had been scheduled to roll.
The group made the announcement on their Facebook page, saying they'd been unable to get the necessary insurance policy to hold the parade.
"We have been informed by City Police that we are not the only ones having this trouble," the post read. "We will re-group and be back next year."
The parade, which was scheduled for March 23, would have been in its third year.
