HOLDEN - A trailer fire that killed a mother and daugther early Wednesday morning is under investigation by authorities.
It happened around 1 a.m. on Hob Hodges road near Highway 44. Firefighters said the six members of the family were asleep inside when the father first smelled smoke.
State fire marshals said the trailer had multiple space heaters going before the fire started, but have not conclusively ruled that to be the cause. They said the trailer had no smoke alarms.
Three other children and their father were able to get out of the trailer before it burned.
News 2's Rob Krieger spoke to family members about this fire, and will have more on how they're dealing with the tragedy tonight at 5 p.m.
