Investigation into New Roads arsons continues
NEW ROADS - Investigators continued their search this morning for clues and suspects in a series of fires set in New Roads since Monday.
Authorities arrested one suspect, 19-year-old Nick Powell, last night. They believe he set at least two of the seven fires which destroyed homes and structures in the city between late Monday night and early Wednesday morning.
State Fire Marshal Butch Browning said Powell could also be connected to other fires in the parish from the past few months.
News 2's Troy Gaulden will have an update on the investigation tonight.
