BATON ROUGE- The search is on for the person who shot two mean early this morning in Baton Rouge.
The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the parking lot of a daiquiri shop in the 1600 block of N. Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
According to police, the 24-year-old victims were found injured in different locations.
Darius Hasbert was found in the left lane of traffic on North Sherwood, shot multiple times in the leg. The second victim was shot in the head, and located on E. Black Oak Drive.
Both were transported to a local hospital.
News 2 talked to Hasbert's cousin, Keith Durr, who lives across the street from where his relative was shot. He said he noticed police and caution tape Thursday morning as he drove home, but didn't know it involved his family.
"I never had a though of who it was, it could have been anyone, but someone close to you like that, immediate family, my first cousin, it's like wow," said Durr.
Residents living nearby told News 2 this shooting hits too close to home.
"Scared. Kind of nervous. Few more steps, they at the back of my house," said Brandon Wooders.
So far police have not named a possible suspect or motive in this case. Anyone with information about this shooting should call Baton Rouge Police Homicide Division at (225) 389-4869.
