Interstate gridlock slows Wednesday night travel
BATON ROUGE- The evening highways looked more like the afternoon rush; clogged and mostly lit from the red glow of brake lights since I-10 and I-12 both closed for a part of Wednesday night.
All eastbound lanes closed just before eight on I-10 before the I-10/110 Split in downtown. Traffic was stopped into West Baton Rouge, almost into Iberville Parish due to a crash.
Eastbound lanes of I-12 also closed in Livingston Parish so crews could collect what was left of a wrecked 18-wheeler. The interstate was closed, also before eight, near Springfield.
The highways eventually reopened.
