LIVINGSTON PARISH- Ten Livingston Parish Detention Center inmates recently obtained their high school diplomas while serving their sentences.

The class is offered through the partnership the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office has with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Education Department.

"I am so proud that you chose to take advantage of this opportunity while incarcerated," Assistant Warden Ben Ballard said to the graduates. "You took the initiative to start making your lives a little bit better."
