Authorities are searching for a man who escaped from the Allen Parish Jail.

Sheriff's deputies say 21-year-old Courtney L. Hobson of Oakdale escaped about 9:40 a.m. Monday by running through a door after a visitor was let in.

Hobson was arrested by Oakdale police Friday on a possession of marijuana charge.

Authorities say Hobson had been brought before a judge and a $5,000 bond was set.

He was brought downstairs from court where he was in the process of bonding out when he fled.
