MORGAN CITY – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Facon says an inmate who escaped from deputies earlier this week was captured in Terrebonne Parish Sunday evening.

According to Leland, 44-year-old Drake Domangue escaped custody Wednesday morning while deputies were transporting him for mental health treatment. He was captured and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail as a fugitive Sunday evening.

Leland said Domangue will be transferred to Assumption Parish where he will face additional charges for escaping.

Domangue was being held in Assumption Parish on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, resisting arrest by force or violence, narcotics related offenses and numerous traffic violations.
