SIMMESPORT- Deputies in Avoyelles Parish are looking for a 25-year-old female inmate who went to a jail church service and then escaped.

Authorities say Veronica Ann Dubois, 25, escaped from a correctional facility in Simmesport around Saturday night.

Dubois is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall and 120 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a cross is tattooed on her upper back.

Deputies say Dubois attended a church service within the prison before she was discovered missing. A routine count shortly after the service confirmed her escape.

Dubois is a probation violator serving time for drug possession convictions.
