Injuries reported in Tickfaw River boating crash
LIVINGSTON PARISH- State Wildlife and Fisheries Agents are working a boating crash where injuries have been reported. At least five people were on a boat when it crashed on the Tickfaw River this evening. A six year old was seriously hurt and taken by Air Med to Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge.
Wildlife agents said the operator of the boat was heading north on the Tickfaw River when he slammed head on into a tree.
At least nine wildlife agents are on the scene with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.
Charges have not been filed against the operator of the boat. However, charges could come.
Agents said it's unclear if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash at this point.
