Injured LSU's Trey Lealaimatafao tweets from hospital
BATON ROUGE- The LSU freshman defensive tackle who severely injured his arm Monday tweeted from his hospital bed a day after the injury.
After an apparent argument with his girlfriend, Trey Lealaimatafao punched a window at the football practice facility. His arm went through the window and was cut, causing so much blood loss he passed out. Lealaimatafao was taken to the hospital where doctors gave him stitches.
"Hi everyone, I'm doing well," Lealaimatafao posted on the social media site along with a picture showing him in a large sling, hospital gown and a smug look on his face.
Earlier, he Tweeted: "Learning experience, thank God I'm alive."
The 17-year-old was listed as a four-star recruit by ESPN.com and was top on the recruit list for other sports websites. He was in the top 30, nationally, of defensive tackles.
It is likely Lealaimatafao won't be playing much this season because of his injury. But, he provided no information about that on Twitter Tuesday.
LSU's season begins in Houston, Texas, on August 30 against Wisconsin.
