BATON ROUGE - An 11-month-old is dead after drowning in a bathtub.

It happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex, located in the 4800 block of Hooper Rd.

Crews arrived on scene to find the child unresponsive. The child was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say the child's mother told them the baby accidently drowned while in the tub. Authorities are investigating the incident.
