Inexpensive tricks to spruce up your home
BATON ROUGE - Interior designer Rachel Lewis demonstrated ways to spruce up the inside of your home without breaking the bank Friday on WBRZ News 2 at 4.
Lewis said now's the time many people start getting ready for spring, and switching seasonal colors in your home doesn't have to be difficult or expensive.
She said bookshelves can stand out by having many books of the same color, which can be accomplished by wrapping books with patterned paper or just turning existing covers inside out to make them all white.
Another tip is before throwing away old accents or accessories, try giving them a fresh coat of paint in a different season's colors.
Lastly, Lewis said temporary wallpaper can help brighten up spaces without having to re-paper entire rooms of your house. She said she likes to line the backs of bookshelves with a new color, or do a single wall in a child's room.
