Independence woman killed in crash on I-10 in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE- I-10 was closed for some of Monday evening as authorities worked to clear a deadly wreck from the Siegen Lane overpass.
The wreck happened in the eastbound lanes. It took crews about four hours to investigate and remove the wreckage.
State Police say 51-year-old Patricia Martello of Independence was killed in the crash. They believe she hit the guardrail on the right side of the road, before swerving across three lanes of traffic and hitting a barrier. She was rushed to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
