Indecent behavior trial begins for former fire chief
LIVINGSTON - Opening statements began this morning in the trial of former fire chief in Livingston Parish, who's accused of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Franklin Dale Church faces nine counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Investigators said he sent emails and text messages to a 14-year-old girl and sometimes met with her.
He was released from prison in 2012 after the statute of limitations ran out on a 2010 arrest for 101 charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of child porn. Prosecutors will be allowed to bring up those charges during this trial.
News 2's Adrian Pittman is at the trial and will have more details tonight starting at 4 p.m.
