In jail, wife who hired hit on husband put on suicide watch
PORT ALLEN- A wife, convicted of hiring a hitman to kill her husband, was put on suicide watch and placed in a padded cell, sources told WBRZ News 2 Friday.
Monique Kitts and Karl Howard were found guilty Thursday evening in the death of Corey Kitts. Kitts was found dead in his home in Addis four years ago.
Prosecutors were successfully able to argue Kitts was a money-hungry, cheating wife who hired her lover, Karl, to kill Corey for $100,000. Kitts was visibly disgruntled as she was placed into a police car outside the courthouse following the verdict.
Korey Knox, the accused getaway driver and prosecution's start witness during testimony, is expected to sign a plea deal next week.
Kitts and Howard will be sentenced in January.
