Illegal gambling leaves 7 arrested
BOGALUSA - State police arrested seven people in Washington Parish for illegal gambling and bookmaking.
Police searched two residents in Bogalusa on Thursday after receiving a tip. Police found $10,000 cash, bookmaking materials, and a small quantity of marijuana.
Police say Lee Henry, 64, and Larry Blackwell, 68, are charged with illegal gambling. Debra Henry, 58, Ronald Peters, 47, and Melvin Fields, 57, were arrested for conspiracy to commit illegal gambling.
Willie D. Roberts Jr, 20, and Lacourte J. Cooley, 24, were charged with possession of marijuana.
